About Bad Toad
Bad Toad is an independent jewellery studio based in Bristol, UK, creating unique, handcrafted pieces with a focus on traditional craftsmanship. Our jewellery is made mostly using the ancient lost wax casting method, where each design begins as a wax carving before being transformed into solid precious metal. This technique allows for intricate details and ensures that no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
We believe in making jewellery that is built to last. Unlike mass-produced or plated pieces, every Bad Toad creation is solid and weighty, designed to age nicely over time. However, like all fine jewellery, it still requires care to maintain its character—find out more about how to look after your piece over on our FAQ page.
Sustainability and ethics are at the heart of what we do. All our metals are responsibly sourced from certified suppliers who use recycled silver and gold. Bad Toad packaging has been selected from an eco and FSC range and customers are given the option whether they want to include eco stickers. Bad Toad is also registered with the London Assay Office, ensuring that every piece meets strict quality and authenticity standards.
